Over the weekend I went to the Disjecta art gallery in the Kenton neighborhood. I was very lucky to get to see at least a small portion of the new exhibit they were setting up. The portion of artwork I got to see was painting and ceramic work.

Recently, I have been creating Polaroid vases for succulents. See my gallery for final pictures of the works.
(both pictures are of the same piece, just with different plants in them, and in different locations)
In the studio we recently had gotten neon low-fire glazes! I decided to try out two of the new glazes on my dancer (below). I tried out the "Honey suckle" glaze which is the pink/salmon color on the dancer. For the base, I used the neon blue. I am currently re-glazing this piece because I want the glaze to be thicker. Overall I like the color and texture of the neon low-fire glazes.I just finished glazing my bowl that I had shown you last month. For this piece I decided to use blue colors on top of each other (lightest to darkest). Can't wait to see how it turns out.
I recently finished making the head below (except the finished one has more detail). I wanted to make all the functions of the brain into a fictional way of how everything works together inside your head.
Last Friday, I started a new dancer piece! I'm super excited to get this one carved down to proportion and start to add details to the face, feet, and hands.
I think that plaster molds are the best way to get a good bowl shape (especially if you're not good at throwing on a wheel). Next to my bowl are some test tiles for glazing. I can't wait to see how they turn out.
